Bamboo achieves excellent durability
thanks to its hollow, tubular structure, evolving over the millennia to combat
the wind in its natural habitat. With its compact nature, tubular, bamboo
materials are used very flexibly. The bamboo trusses will be skillfully
combined with joints to form bearing columns or decorations for the building.
The mechanical properties of bamboo
are 2-3 times higher than that of conventional wood. Bamboo has greater tensile
strength than steel and is more compressive than concrete. The specific gravity
of bamboo is 6 times higher than that of steel.
In particular, bamboo has the
ability to bend extremely well to ease the shape of the building, and is also a
prominent feature for houses made of bamboo to withstand cyclones and shocks.
